Capacity Building + Workshop Teacher Training in CNC Machines Operation (Turning + Milling) for Vocational Schools in Kenya

The presence of CNC machines in local schools indicates a promising foundation for technical education. However, the lack of experience, know-how, access to base materials, poor machine servicing and maintenance impedes the effectiveness of these educational resources in preparing students for the demands of the industry.

This project therefore addresses the above problems through: Equipping TVET workshop teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach CNC machining as well as providing hands-on training opportunities for TVET students to enhance their practical skills in CNC machining.

The Kenyan-German Cooperation for Youth Employment is to boost youth employment by offering industry-oriented technical and vocational training in close cooperation with the private sector. 

As a start three public Technical Training Institutes (TTIs) in the greater Nairobi area will be upgraded to form a network of specialised Centres of Excellence in the technical areas of Industrial Mechatronics, Automotive Mechatronics and Automotive Bodybuilding / Welding.
